Who we are
African Hope Services works alongside rural and underserved communities across Africa so that every girl and boy can go to school, stay in school, and finish. In Burundi, we deliver this work through our partner, AHS Nderagakura.

Mission
We empower rural and underprivileged children and youth to realize their potential. We create a lasting positive change by providing children with the basic needs to thrive and by empowering them, their schools and communities to promote a more sustainable and inclusive future.
Across Sub-Saharan Africa, 80% of school-aged children live in rural areas — yet these are the schools most often left behind, receiving a fraction of the resources schools in town get. In Burundi, our partner AHS Nderagakura is closing that gap through projects like NDERAGAKURA and ECOFO Masango — school by school.

What we stand for
Our values are inspired by Ubuntu — the African philosophy of community, dignity and shared humanity, captured in the phrase “I am because we are.”

We work with rural families and schools as partners, not recipients — seeing the dignity and humanity in the children we serve, as capable and worth investing in.

Education is a long commitment. In the spirit of Ubuntu solidarity, we plan in school years, not single donations, so a child can count on us until they finish.
